As much as everyone loves rides, I think I would have to start with walk-throughs mainly to get started as these would be cheaper to construct. I wondered what ideas you guys have to make a walk-through exhibit exciting? What would you do to keep it interesting? One idea I had is an enclosed tropical house with the floor covered with low growing ferns and mosses, and a network of raised wooden platforms bridging the walls of the house on all sides. Maybe a bridge system could take the visitor right across the center of the room, passing small animatronic Compies and very small Pterosaurs to the far end where a series of glass walled enclosures house turtles and small Crocs or Gators. The main floor could have several species of small dinosaurs similar to Coelophysis darting in and out of the wild coverage, with pre-recorded sounds of a prehistoric environment heard from hidden speakers mounted in the surrounding trees.

Well you could have dark areas with hidden dinosaurs that leap out and frighten unsuspecting guests as they walk by. That or a Tyrannosaurus that has supposedly escaped from its cage and is now stalking people. You could have it roaring in the distance, and getting louder each time, which would make people feel scared.

So the ever growing Rex roars would create a state of suspense or unease. Sounds like this could be an interesting idea if it doesn't scare the kids too much. I would of course have many pre-recorded dinosaur sounds playing as people travelled through the park trails.

Have a Dilophosaurus?
Or make a larger area where there's a breeding colony of Leaellynasaura with their nest mount. It could be obsurred faintly by ferns and you could create a cheap scene by having a sentry stood in an overhanging tree, while the rest of the group forage?

I agree with the walk trough idea. for a velociraptor paddock what you could do is have a lot of brush and plants in the enclosure and have something disturb the brush like there's raptors running trough the brush and then every so often you could have a raptor head pop out of the bushes.
